MAC HUE DUPE

TOP - NATURAL COLLECTION, BOTTOM - MAC

MAC HUE £15
NATURAL COLLECTION ROSE PETAL £1.99

Mac Hue was my first ever Mac lipstick. I chose it because of the 'glaze' formula and it's gorgeous peachy-pink colour. Who can resist a good peachy-pink lipstick? Recently, whilst perusing the aisles of Boots, I came across the Natural Collection lipsticks priced at £1.99. I couldn't help but check out what colours they had and suddenly the back of my hand contained more swatches that a carpet shop. I saw Rose Petal a lush peach-pink and it reminded me so much of Mac's Hue that I had to take it home and compare the two.

Although the colours are very similar, the Natural Collection one is a little more peach toned than the Mac. However, the main similarity between these is the formula. The 'glaze' lipsticks from Mac are meant to have low-colour impact and a sheer finish. This is where the two are very similar.

My conclusions? To be honest, I would never have bothered with the Mac lipstick. I find neither lipsticks to last any longer than 2-3 hours and both have very similar pigmentation. (If anything, the Natural Collection lipstick has a little more colour pay-off than the Mac lipstick.) So, sorry Mac, I love your lipsticks but the glazes were a little disappointing to me.

What do you think to the Mac glaze lipsticks?

Have you tried the Natural Collection lipsticks?
