5 ARTISTS THAT DESERVE MORE RECOGNITION

As of late, I've been finding so much music that I've never heard of and I've been loving. One of the reasons I've discovered this music is by using SoundCloud - it's so easy to find small/new music artists from all over the world. I'd like to mention at this point that this post is NOT sponsored by SoundCloud, I just love it a little bit much. I started using it as just a way to listen to recommended artists that I couldn't find on sites like Spotfy and YouTube; then I started looking at the recommendations from SoundCloud and I have been hooked ever since. In this post there's a mix of artists from all over the world, some a bit more well known than others, but all unique and all insanely good.

Mister Lies

If you're after some chill/ambient, almost haunting, music, Mister Lies is the one for you. Especially with tracks like False Astronomy and Cleam, it kind of takes you to another place - it's really easy to get lost in his music, making it perfect for if you're looking for some way of relaxing at the end of a long day.

Dornik
Dornik, Dornik, Dornik, where do I start with Dornik? I love Dornik as a concept - he's one of these artists that don't post a bio anywhere so that it's all about the music, and as cliche as that is, I love it because it's working for him. He has released 3 tracks on his SoundCloud but I love every single one. It's difficult to summarise his sound as he's produced such a small amount of music - possiby my favouriite track Something About You has a really chill, Frank Ocean, R&B feel, whereas Rebound has a really electronic, upbeat feel. He has also just released On My Mind, which is a good mix of his old songs - that Frank Ocean vibe but it's still upbeat and sort of Prince-esque. Love all of them. Love Dornik.

Monsieur Adi

Monsieur Adi is a French electronic musician, producer and remixer, and he is known for his official remixes for artists such as Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Bastille and The Kooks. He also joined Beyonce for the Europe leg of her 2014 Mrs Carter Show World Tour (just another reason why he is the best DJ ever). His remixes are so clever and he'll make you like songs that you hate and love songs that you like. My favourite remix has to be his Dan Croll - Nobody Knows remix - I'm a fan of Dan Croll, but this remix is incredible.

Arora (formely Sonos)
I found out about these guys from Pentatonix's Scott Hoying, as I believe they competed with them in the Sing-Off on NBC in 2011. They're an a cappella group with an electronic sound and I love it. I love their album Bioluminescence (particularly the track called The Bridge) - the sound is really chill and upbeat at the same time, but there's a really nice variety of stuff on the album. Whilst they're not my favourite a cappella group out there, they have a really interesting sound and the electronic feel is right up my street.

SOPHIE

I'm going to finish on a bit of a weird one. SOPHIE was the artist that got me into SoundCloud. Listening to SOPHIE will change your life - the music will feel like it's grabbed your soul, thrown it at a wall, and put it back, it's that crazy. I recommend listening to this when you're in a really good mood, and with some really good headphones. My favourite track has to be Lemonade - all of the tracks from the album Numbers have a really electronic feel with tones of pop, with some really pop-y lines and riffs, but I am in love with it.

I love doing music posts as, for me, my music taste is always changing and developing and it's nice to look back and see what I was loving. Obviously, be sure to leave your song recommendations in the comments below, particularly if they're a small artist who deserve a bigger audience.
