This time I used gold leaf which was a bit of a learning curve but I found you can be surprising slap dash with it. (But you could also use liquid gilding instead of the gold leaf as it is easier but gives a less shiny finish). I got my dad to drag out his tile cutter and we cut the big tile into 10cm squares. You can buy your tiles already in squares if you can find them, but this just seemed easier. If it tears and leaves a hole, just take another tiny piece of golf leaf and place it over the patch. You can be surprisingly rough with gold leaf.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #e06666;\"\u003E4.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/span\u003EFirmly press down the gold leaf with a clean foam brush and leave the Mod Podge to dry.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #e06666;\"\u003E5. \u003C\/span\u003EOnce the glue has set, brush off the excess gold leaf with your foam brush using circular motions.\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #e06666;\"\u003E6.\u003C\/span\u003E\u0026nbsp;Now for the best bit: peel of the tape and reveal your clean line! Apply another coat of Mod Podge, just to seal in your gold and stop it peeling or scratching off, as the point of using a coaster is that it's hard wearing.\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003EThere you have it! These are really easy to make and are great if you have old kids toy animals hanging around (if not, Ebay is fab). I chose to go with brass hardware to go with the gold liquid gilding, but you can use whatever you like. If you're not into the fake metallic look, you can go for colour paint instead. Pastels and neons look great! This project seemed to fit in really nicely with my new office space as I wanted to display inspiring things on the walls, but things that weren't really permanent so that I could switch them up and change them whenever I got bored of looking at them. So now I have a way of displaying my magazines on my walls and I can showcase some really incredible photography and gorgeous make up.\u003C\/div\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003EYOU'LL NEED:\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003E\u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.muji.eu\/pages\/online.asp?Sec=6\u0026amp;Sub=26\u0026amp;PID=1099\" target=\"_blank\"\u003Estrong clothes hangers\u003C\/a\u003E \/ strong wall nails \/ hammer \/ pencil\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003EWhen you buy your clothes hangers, you want to make sure that they are strong enough to hold your magazines and aren't going to bend - the ones I've linked above are the ones that I used and they work really well.\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003EFirstly, decide whether you want to customize your hangers or leave them with the plain metal exposed. You could try dipping the hooks of the hangers in paint (try\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/sugarandcloth.com\/2015\/01\/diy-color-dipped-clothes-hangers\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003Ethis tutorial\u003C\/a\u003E).\u003C\/div\u003E\u003Cdiv style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003ENext, you want to figure out where you want them on your wall and how many you want. I just put 2 up (one above the other) above my filing cabinet and that seemed to fit really well in the space I had, so try holding up some hangers to see what looks best.
