We saw it in 1939 when Dorothy followed the yellow brick road, we saw it in the 1950s with Marilyn Monroe, and it's still here in 2014. Gingham is a fabric that was originally imported into Europe in the 17th century, and it turns out, we thought it was a keeper. This season we've seen gingham hitting the catwalk, and now the high street. I've put together a little edit of my picks of the trend.
First up is a discounted Fred Perry piece. You can buy this from Asos discounted from £70. Bargain. I love how preppy this shirt is and, if I bought this, I would layer it up with a jumper or pinafore, or a jumper and a pinafore! If I'm feeling super crazy!
Next is an offering from Boohoo. I don't frequently shop at Boohoo, but they have some gorgeous pieces at the moment! This dress is similar to the White Pepper dress that is now out of stock; this one is a great cheap alternative. And who can resist a smock?
Topshop have got loads of gingham in store this season and they have some really unique pieces. I love this tee and it is a definite on my wishlist. It's an almost boxy shape and, again, would be a great one for layering.
I've saved my favourite until last. Again, this is from Topshop and it is a skort. A skirt in the front and shorts in the back! I think this will be a great summer piece for my monochrome wardrobe. Want want want!
Are you a fan of gingham? Have you bought any gingham recently?
Cute post! Love this trend, easy to wear.
