FRIDAY COME DOWN

It's around this time of the year that everything seems to reach a little bit of a peak - people are finishing school and exams, and everything then seems to become a bit of a rush to summer. (Especially with holiday planning and just a general wish for summer to hurry the heck up and arrive already). Sometimes it's nice just to take a step back and breathe for a minute to take your mind off the chaos. That's why I've put this post together, to give you a little push to treat yourself and a little nudge to encourage you to take a breather. Take these tips and I guarantee a calm, stress-free evening.

GET COMFY
No one can relax when they're not comfortable, so ditch the pencil skirt and blazer, and grab that jogger-jumper combination that's a little bit too big for you. The jumper I have in the picture above is from Primark and I picked it up for £3 (further proving that comfort should be you priority in life). Next, get yourself snuggled up in bed, or take every pillow and blanket onto the sofa and form into a fort-like structure. I also love to light a few cheeky candles here and there just to make an occasion out of it.

RAID THE FRIDGE
Snacks are an essential part of a kick-back-sesh, so get to the fridge/cupboard and grab whatever takes your fancy. I've gone for a classic bowl of popcorn and some Teapigs Silver Tops White Tea just to bump up the level of cosiness.

FORGET ABOUT WORK
The next and most crucial step is to distract yourself from anything that takes up your day, each day, every day - whether that's school, uni or work, find something else to do. It might be something you think you haven't had chance to do yet, like sort out old photos, or read a book you bought months ago and haven't even opened yet. Or you can go down the classic route and listen to music or watch Netflix/TV. Music-wise, I've been obsessed with Norah Jones recently - she's just so chilled out, I love it. Netflix-wise, I've really had to think about what to recommend because there's just so much to choose from. I've been loving the TV series' on the US Netflix recently -obviously Orange is the New Black has been top of my list (if you haven't seen it yet, it was amazing), I've also been loving Being Human (although I didn't enjoy series 4 and 5 as much), and obviously I can always rely on Family Guy for a good laugh. TV series' are a great way of getting your brain involved in something different to your own life for a bit.

I hope you have an enjoyable evening and that you take a few hours to yourself just to relax and distract yourself from the everyday rush.
