The sun is shining and on a day like today, nothing beats a fresh, cold drink. When the weather is this nice, I love to make homemade lemonade. The recipe I have put together is really simple and really easy to do, and means that you get to spend less time in the kitchen and more time in the sun. If you want to make this for an event, you can make the syrup and refrigerate it and then add the sparkling water as and when you need it.
Because this recipe is so simple, it's really easy to adapt and put your own spin on. You can add root ginger when you make the syrup and take it out when you add the water. You can also add honey, mint or rosemary.
Serves 4
Ingredients:
1 cup/225g sugar
1 cup/250ml water
1 cup/250ml lemon juice (seeds removed)
Sparkling water
Method:
1. Make a syrup with the sugar and water by heating in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved.
2. Pour the lemon juice and syrup into a jug, and top up with sparkling water until it tastes as you would like. You can add more lemon juice if it is too sweet.
Let me know if you try this recipe or, if not, let me know what your favourite thing is to drink in the sun.
Lovely post and photos, xx
