FIGHTING THE HYPE: DR BRONNER'S (NOT SO) MAGIC SOAP

Now that I've spent days thinking of that ingenius post title (apologies for my terrible sense of humour), we can get on with talking about Dr Bronner's Magic Soap. This isn't going to be a long ranty post because, you know, positive vibes = positive life, and all that - so I'll make this short and sweet sour.

I got sucked into buying this soap after everybody and their mum had gone on about how it does EVERYTHING. Supposedly, you could use it as soap, as shampoo, as toothpaste, for shaving, as kitchen cleaner, as dishwasher soap, as laundry soap, as a painkiller. Okay maybe not the last one, but people were getting pretty carried away. Whilst I've not tried using this around the house, it's fair to this soap is pretty crap for dealing with your body.

I found that it was really drying and made my skin feel extremely stripped, so the idea of using it for shaving went out the window. I must say that it did work well for shaving but just left my skin feeling nasty. Also, using this for toothpaste is ridiculous. It's soap: it looks like soap, tastes like soap, smells like soap, lathers like soap, it's weird to use as toothpaste as you are literally brushing your teeth with hand soap. Although once, I did end up brushing my teeth with hand soap on a very half-awake morning - please tell me I'm not the only one who's done this. As for shampoo, I've not even tried this because I know it would just make my hair even more dry.

So there are my thoughts on Dr Bronner's Magic Soap - it's fair to say we did not get on.

Have you tried Dr Bronner's Magic Soap? What did you think?
