BOIRON HOMEOPLASMINE: BON OR NON?

A couple of months ago, I ordered some of Boiron's Homeoplasmine Cream from Escentual after reading that a lot of makeup artists use it as a primer on models' dry/irritated skin. I was in the market for a new primer, French skincare is usually amazing, and I figured that if it's good enough for makeup artists, then it's good enough for me, so I threw it in my virtual shopping basket immediately.

Summary -
Positives: good at covering dry/irritated skin (very smoothing), increases longevity of makeup.
Negatives: very heavy, quite greasy.

As I mentioned, I've had this product for a while and I've really been able to test this through my best and my worst skin days (including a couple of days when I had a burn on my face from my curlers). So, first things first, I have to say that this is a very heavy duty primer - this is not a product that I would use all over my face, (for all over the face, my favourite primers are the original Maybelline Baby Skin and the MUFE Smoothing Primer). The texture of this product feels quite oily and slightly silicone-y, rather than creamy, and can feel very greasy on the face. Alos, this greasiness can start to shine through your makeup if you have a particularly oily day.

However, it is amazing at smoothing over small areas of rough, dry skin and creating the perfect base for your foundation - I tend to apply it on the sides of my nose as my skin gets quite rough in this area. It does also feel quite soothing on the skin, can really improve dryness, and does feel like a skincare product as opposed to just a makeup primer. Although I wouldn't consider this a 'holy grail' skincare product, I would definitely recommend this as a great primer for targeting specific dry and rough areas.

Have you tried Boiron's Homeoplasmine Cream?
